Pet entry requirements: Cat → Saint-Pierre and Miquelon
These are the requirements for entering Saint-Pierre and Miquelon with a cat, based on a departure from Germany/the EU. Requirements can change — always confirm with the relevant authority before you travel.
🔴 Required
Microchip Required
Required: identification by microchip; tattoos are not recognised for animals born after 1 July 2011. Identification document issued by the veterinarian (chip number, implant date, breed, colour, date of birth).
Rabies vaccination Required
Required: valid rabies vaccination; entry only after the immunity period has elapsed (per the page, vaccination possible from the 12th week, immunity considered acquired 21 days after injection unless the manufacturer states otherwise). The vaccination is recognised only if the animal was already microchipped (chip before or on the same day).
Health certificate Required
Required: health certificate issued less than 10 days before introduction into the territory. For animals from non-EU countries a DTAM form is available; for animals from the EU the information is entered in the EU pet passport.
⚠️ Notes & grey zone
Grey zone
Titer: the page requires it for animals from countries other than the EU, Canada, USA (list described as non-exhaustive); Germany is not named verbatim, so not captured. The governing Arrete no. 481 is a scan without a text layer; the customs FAQ still points to Arrete no. 97 of 2018.
Notes
After arrival: for animals not coming from a French departement and after a stay of more than 3 months outside SPM, a veterinary visit within 8 days is required. The rules apply jointly to dogs, cats and ferrets (Arrete no. 481 of 13 Aug 2026, scan not machine-readable).
