Pet entry requirements: Dog → Brazil
These are the requirements for entering Brazil with a dog, based on a departure from Germany/the EU. Requirements can change — always confirm with the relevant authority before you travel.

Rabies vaccination Required
Rabies vaccination mandatory from 90 days of age (authorised vaccine within its validity period). Primo-vaccinated animals may depart only after 21 days. Younger animals: CVI certifies age under 90 days and no contact with urban rabies in the last 90 days.
Minimum age / young animals Required
Over 90 days (older than 13 weeks).
Parasite treatment Required
Broad-spectrum treatment against internal and external parasites within 15 days before CVI issuance.
Health certificate Required
Original International Veterinary Certificate (CVI) per Annex II of Portaria MAPA 741/2024, issued by the exporting country's veterinary authority; clinical examination by a registered veterinarian within 10 days before issuance. The CVI is valid 60 days from issuance while the rabies vaccination remains valid.
