Pet entry requirements: Dog → Greenland
These are the requirements for entering Greenland with a dog, based on a departure from Germany/the EU. Requirements can change — always confirm with the relevant authority before you travel.

Import permit Required
An import permit from the Greenland Representation in Copenhagen is mandatory (importing without a permit is punishable; the animal may be confiscated without compensation). Permit and certificates must accompany the animal; checked at check-in in Kastrup. For dogs the permit is issued only for southern West Greenland (Kangaamiut south to Cape Farewell).
Microchip Required
The animal must be permanently identified by microchip (dogs and cats over 12 weeks). The source names no ISO standard.
Rabies vaccination Required
Valid rabies vaccination mandatory; at entry at least 30 days and at most 365 days (1 year) old. The Greenlandic 30/365-day rule applies, not the validity period printed in the EU pet passport. Also valid vaccination against distemper and parvovirus (typically DHP).
Other tests Required
No blood tests named; dogs however need valid vaccination against distemper (hundesyge) and parvovirus (field used only as placeholder for the additional vaccination).
Parasite treatment Required
Treatment by a veterinarian against fox tapeworm and parasites, no earlier than 14 days before travel to Greenland (usually together with the health certificate). The animal must be isolated from other animals from the day of certificate/deworming until departure (owner declaration at the foot of the certificate).
Health certificate Required
Veterinary health certificate (template of the Greenland Veterinary and Food Authority, including owner declaration) mandatory; issued no more than 14 days before departure. Additionally proof of sterilisation for bitches.
Registration Required
Dog-keeping permit from the municipality of residence in Greenland (to be applied for directly with the municipality) is a precondition of the import permit; import leads to registration in the national animal register. Field used as closest fit.

Greenland has its own law, diverging from the EU regime: rabies vaccination 30 to 365 days, import permit, dog-keeping permit, certificate <= 14 days, sterilisation of bitches. The source does not single out Germany/EU origin: the rules apply to dogs without an origin branch. Sled-dog district: dogs only outside it, i.e. not north of 66th parallel in West Greenland (Sisimiut, Kangerlussuaq to Qaanaaq) and not in East Greenland; Nuuk lies outside. Kangerlussuaq transit only same day, dog on leash at all times. According to VFMG the rules were drawn up together with the Danish Food Authority. Cat rules are similar but not identical (sterilisation and distemper/parvo only for dogs; sled-dog district only for dogs).
